LONDON - They did dislodge from the first position of the British charts, Coldplay and even, in spite of all the new music flowing, with a disc out for the first time in 1992. Abba are back there, singing the hit Mamma Mia and enjoy the satisfaction of boast of another record. Gold collection which are leading the way, is the oldest album to have reached that goal, swept away the previous Journey, Bob Marley and Guns' n Roses. The best of Abba had appeared for the first time in the UK charts 16 years ago, at the head since its release in the first week of October, and yesterday we pushed back from the musical also starring in the film by Meryl Streep, in theaters in recent days. But it is not the only film event to have reinvigorated the songs of Swedish group, which has sold over 370 million records worldwide. Ultimately, their catchy songs people have never stopped singing and was not just the gay community, for which the Abba are an icon, not to have forgotten them. On 4 July in Stockholm, when Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad participated in the first film, all four appeared together in public after more than 20 years, Ulvaeus had to explain once again that there is no intention on the part of the group back on stage. They will not do short, as the Police, the Wham, Duran Duran, Led Zeppelin, who have recently reconstructed old disagreements and started to tour dates or unique to the delight of fans. The Abba
do not need to return to performing live for fans and attract new followers, also because their style glam, glitter and all white blazers, now would be less feasible instead of jumps that Sting has managed to do. Their pop, Dave Laing in "Punk, history of a subculture called" transnational "to the capacity of pleasure in all Europe, still has the key to disrupting the recording industry. Abba were the culmination of this pop without boundaries when in 1974, just four years after the formation of the group, won the Eurovision Song Contest with "Waterloo", and climb the ranks of the continent. They were capable of pleasure, as well as in different countries, to audiences of all ages, from 13 to 60 years, and I'm still capable. Meanwhile, Fernando sings, you can appreciate the cleverness of the movie Meryl Streep, and expects to go see what there is in the museum dedicated to Abba, the opening in Stockholm in June 2009. In times of globalization are indeed a wonderful Abba's music icon funny every time and country.
